On 3rd May, during the May Day, the construction project for the fluorite ore processing plant at Ruoqiang in Xinjiang, undertaken by MCC5, completed the installation of its largest equipment – the ball mill.
Located deep within the ‘uninhabited zone’ of the Altun Mountains, this project is a key initiative for the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and represents a significant step in implementing the region's strategy to ‘actively develop a green mining industry cluster’. The project has a total construction area of approximately 63,000m2. During the Labour Day, over 600 construction workers remained steadfast at their posts, working overtime in continuous shifts. Presently, the installation of the ball mill, the plant's largest equipment, has been completed. The main construction progress has reached 90%, with other equipment installation works proceeding through extensive overlapping and parallel operations.
Upon completion, the project will achieve an annual mineral processing capacity of 1.2 million tonnes. This will effectively facilitate the conversion of Ruoqiang's advantageous mineral resources, support the development of green mining industry clusters, and contribute to national energy and resource security.
